Alright, TV fanatics — PaleyFest LA 2019 is coming down the pipeline fast, and we’ve got all the details. Think you’re ready for it?
PaleyFest LA, one of the biggest television festivals in the country, is known for its exclusive panel discussions that allow fans to get up close and personal with their favorite TV stars and screenwriters as they speak candidly about their work. Panels this year will feature the casts of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Grace and Frankie, Rupaul’s Drag Race, 9-1-1, Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Walking Dead, Hawaii 5-0, MacGyver, Magnum P.I., Pose, Star Trek: Discovery, andThis Is Us. Additional panels include An Evening with Stephen Colbert, a Parks and Recreation reunion, and a preview of the upcoming Twilight Zone reboot.
If you ask us, we’d say the joint Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin panel sounds like one of this year’s juiciest, considering the two casts are slated to focus on their respective series’ farewell seasons. Jane the Virgin, the hilarious, hijinx-ridden story of a young writer who becomes pregnant after accidentally being artificially inseminated, is heading into its fifth and final season March 27th on The CW. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the tale of a real estate agent who drops everything to follow her ex-boyfriend across the country, is currently in its fourth and final season on the same network. Several of each of the shows’ lead actors and writers, including Gina Rodriguez, Justin Baldoni, Rachel Bloom, and Aline Brosh McKenna are set to speak at the panel.
Another PaleyFest event we can’t wait for? The Twilight Zone special preview panel. While this panel will be part of a joint discussion with the cast of Star Trek: Discovery, the buzz surrounding Jordan Peele’s upcoming reboot of the creepy series seems to hint that his portion of the panel will be the one to watch. The new series, which will air on CBS All Access beginning April 1st, will mark Peele’s first starring role in a television series since his sketch comedy show Key & Peele ended in 2015. The multi-talented funnyman will serve as the series’ host, narrator, and executive producer.

While it’s not unusual for TV show mega-fans to show up to PaleyFest LA (it’s kind of what the festival is made for!), one panel on this year’s lineup may just boast the most dedicated, hysteric, out-of-control fans the festival has ever seen: No, there are no boy bands appearing at this year’s event — we’re talking about the Parks and Recreation reunion panel. The sitcom, which aired on NBC from 2009 to 2015, amassed millions of fans through its run thanks to the wacky, outrageous situations the characters often found themselves in. The panel is one of only two that are currently sold out (the other being An Evening with Stephen Colbert), and many of the show’s leads, including Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Rashida Jones, Aubrey Plaza, and more, are set to appear in person.
PaleyFest LA 2019 kicks off on Friday, March 15th at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The festival, produced by the Paley Center for Media, wraps up on Sunday, March 24th.
