We are so excited for the Season 4 premiere of Every Witch Way on Nickelodeon tonight!
To get you excited for the premiere, CelebSecrets4U sat down with Paris Smith, who plays Maddie, to chat all things Every Witch Way.
After standing up to the Witches Council in Season 3, Emma Alonso (Paola Andino) is more powerful than ever before. In Season 4, Emma’s taking charge as The Chosen One and pushing the limits. Friendships will be tested, enemies will be made and the Magic Realm will be changed forever.
In our interview, Paris talks about what you can expect from the fourth season of the hit TV series, how Maddie has changed from season one to season four and her top memories that she’s had when filming. She even shares a special message to all the Every Witch Way fans — make sure to read the Q&A below!
Every Witch Way premieres tonight, July 6th @ 7PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon. New episodes will premiere every weekday for the month of July at 7PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
CS4U: Season 4 of Every Witch Way is said to bring a whole new level of unexpected drama. Can you tell us a little bit about what we might see this season?
Paris Smith: “This season is insane! Everything you thought you knew about Every Witch Way is completely flipped on its head! There’s new relationships that will be tested, new twists and turns, and much more DRAMA! There’s also a road trip to the Everglades, and who knows what will happen there! What I love most about this show is the plot twists and the relationships, and this season ALL of that is tested, which makes you feel at the edge of your seat! So buckle your seat belts because this season is a roller coaster!”
CS4U: How much do you feel your character has grown since her first episode on the show?
Paris Smith: “Maddie has grown so much since Season 1! She got a boyfriend, Diego Rueda, and her relationship with her mother, Ursula, and the Panthers, Katie and Sophie grows so much. They become so much closer throughout the seasons. Also, Maddie learns that relationships are just as important as shopping! Emma and Maddie, especially this season, become closer as frenemies and help each other out more. This season, you can expect to see Maddie go through an emotional change in her relationships. Yet, she doesn’t loose that side of Maddie that we all know & love!”
CS4U: How would you say, as PARIS, being part of this series has shaped you as an actress?
Paris Smith: “Playing Maddie was an honor and I am so thankful and grateful to Nickelodeon for giving me the opportunity to play a character as funny and charismatic as Maddie. As an actress on this show, I have grown so much because I was given the opportunity to show my range through multiple emotional scenes, as well as comedic scenes. This show overall has been such a great learning experience! I started this show when I was 12 and now I am 15 years old. So, I basically grew up on this show and I loved every minute of it! I have developed so many great relationships with the cast, crew, and Nickelodeon on this show and I will cherish all of those relationships and memories. I really enjoyed working as a team with my Nickelodeon family<3”
CS4U: If we could take a look back at your time on the show, what would you say were your top 5 favorite moments of filming?
Paris Smith: “Wow! There are SO MANY to choose from but if I had to pick favorite scenes from EWW they would be:
5: The Ketchup scene from Season 1 because the ketchup was so messy and so cold! I loved this scene so much because it was a challenge to deliver my lines with anger while freezing my butt off with ketchup EVERYWHERE!
4: My fourth favorite scene was the emotional scene in Season 2 when Maddie is in the janitors closet with Andi. Maddie had an emotional breakdown because her mother stole her powers from her and her best friends lied to her about it! So she felt betrayed and upset that they did that to her. That scene was the most challenging scene in the show because it required me, as an actress, to be so emotional and yet be comedic at the same time. I loved that scene and it is one of my favorite scenes of this series!
3: My third favorite scene was the kissing scene in Season 2! That scene was so much fun to film because there were many special effects and it was my first kiss EVER! I was a little nervous at first but I got over it pretty fast, surprisingly!
2: All of the beach scenes in Season 3! I loved filming at the beach because I’ve never had the experience of filming at the beach before, and it was such a blast to be there with the whole cast! I also loved the Summer Beach party we had at the beach for one of the episodes!
1: My favorite scene from Every Witch Way is in this brand new season, so I can’t give much away, but it definitely challenged me as an actress!”
CS4U: You’ve gathered quite the fan base surrounding this show, if you could speak to every single one of them in a group setting, what would you say?
Paris Smith: “I want to thank each and every fan for being so loving and supportive of this show! I love waking up to read all of your lovely tweets and comments on Instagram and Twitter! I love social media so that I can talk with my fans on a personal level and so that they can really get to know me! I just wanted to thank you guys again for all of your love and support of Every Witch Way and without you guys, we wouldn’t be where we are today! Love you to the moon and back & always follow your dreams!”
