With smooth vocals and catchy tunes, rising pop singer James Barre is on track to make a name for himself in the world of music.
The 16-year-old already has the seal of approval from Maroon 5’s Sam Farrar, as the two collaborated with Rykeyz for his song “This Means War.”
“[Sam and I] got into the studio and the flow was so good. We were bouncing ideas off of each other and just overall having a good time,” Barre tells us exclusively.

Celeb Secrets: When did you realize you had a passion for music?
James Barre: “Throughout all my life I was always involved in something musical, but it wasn’t until I picked up the guitar it really clicked! I was about 12 or 13 at the time.”
Celeb Secrets: How’s the journey been for you so far? Can you tell us some of your favorite moments?
James Barre: “The Good Vibes Only Tour was by far one of my favorites memories. Traveling and meeting new people is always fun.”
Celeb Secrets: You’re known for collaborating with Maroon 5’s Sam Farrar — tell us about how you connected and what it was like working with him.
James Barre: “Sometimes things just fall into place… that’s how it was with Sam. We got into the studio and the flow was so good. We were bouncing ideas off of each other and just overall having a good time.”
Celeb Secrets: What was the best piece of advice you took from working with Sam?
James Barre: “Sam had tons of cool methods he used for recording, writing that I was able to pick up on and bring into my work on the regular.”

Celeb Secrets: You have a new single out called “She Said” — can you tell us about it (i.e. what the song is about/what inspired it) and what the recording process was like?
James Barre: “Recording and writing “She Said” was sort of a crazy experience. It’s such an emotionally driven song and it was really intense (but awesome) to put that kind of feeling into it.”
Celeb Secrets: What can you tease in terms of upcoming music?
James Barre: “I am always writing and doing shows, so I always have something new coming up. Be prepared for a new single soon!”
Celeb Secrets: You’re still a teenager but have an impressive resume. Is there anything else you’d like to accomplish in 2019?
James Barre: “In 2019 I want to perform as much as possible and write even more! I am looking forward to meeting new people and doing some more collabs!

James Barre: “I love old school rock! Bands like Queen, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd are so influential and inspiring!
