Hollywood Records’ pop/rock quintet R5 debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Pop Album chart, #3 on Billboard’s Digital Album chart, #4 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and #6 on the Billboard 200 with new album  Sometime Last Night.

The groove-heavy, guitar-driven pop-rock album also hit #2 on the iTunes Pop chart and debuted Top 10 on iTunes in 23 countries. Leading up to the release social buzz was in high gear propelling “Smile” to #1 on Billboard’s Trending 140 chart and “Dark Side” to #4 last week after Billboard.com premiered the track.

Mainly produced by Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, O.A.R., the Replacements) and co-produced by R5 guitarist Rocky LynchSometime Last Night marks the evolution of R5 as a creative unit with band members writing or co-writing eight of the 11 tracks resulting in a selection of arena-sized pop songs shot through with gorgeously crafted melodies, electrifying harmonies, and lyrics culled from real-life stories the band’s been through over the past few years.

In support of the release, the internationally-acclaimed band kicked off their Sometime Last Night 2015-2016 summer headlining tour on July 7, followed by a string of high profile television performances starting with their late night TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, followed by Good Morning America and Live with Kelly & Michael.

Congrats, R5!
