Remy Garrison “Sorta Kinda Maybe” has a new crush, and is spilling it all in her new single of the same name.
Premiering exclusively on Celeb Secrets ahead of its release tomorrow, the upbeat, acoustically-driven track grew out of conversations Garrison was having with a guy she was talking to.
“I would always say ‘sorta’ and he would respond, ‘no, it’s kinda,’ and then I would say ‘maybe.’ Then we both started saying ‘sorta, kinda, maybe’ about things. It was cute and I knew that it needed to be a song title,” Remy exclusively tells Celeb Secrets.
Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Garrison had a natural gift for music from an early age that stunned everyone around her. Coming from a nurturing home, her family were quick to rally round her and put her talents in front of people who needed to hear them. “My dad is a songwriter because of me,” she laughs, “He’s a lawyer, but he started writing to help get me in co-writes in Nashville.”
A relative newcomer to Music City, she quickly started dazzling industry veterans with her
intense commitment to craft and process. “I came in to my first co-write with a melody, and a
title, and I knew how I wanted it to go. The people I was working with were surprised I came in
with so much.’” she explains, “So I’ve done it in every write since then. I’m never unprepared.”
All of Remy’s co-writes will soon pay off, as new music will be coming towards the end of this year and the beginning of next. “We have a couple more songs that will be released this year but right now I am just excited to finally have my debut song out,” she tells Celeb Secrets.
