Selena Gomez Sports A Brand New Tattoo

Selena Gomez is nothing but smiles as she shows off her new tattoo.

The 28-year-old pop sensation and actress made a very recent trip to Bang Bang Tattoo, a leading ink parlor situated in New York, NY. She walked in with a spiritual vision and walked out with a black, minimalist-style cross on her left collar bone.

Word broke when Bang Bang Tattoo shared some exclusive footage that reveals Gomez’s reaction to the finished product via Instagram. The brief clip opens with a close-up of the tiny cross, but it quickly zooms out further to highlight a shot of Gomez laughing while wearing a mask.

The artist behind the trendy design, Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy, has worked with many high-profile clients over the years. As stated in his profile, “McCurdy has tattooed Rihanna in the tropics, Lebron James in his basement, Cara Delevingne on a roof, Katy Perry in Stockholm’s Abba Museum, and Justin Bieber on a plane at 30,000 feet.” With that resume, we surely can’t think of anyone who could be better for the job.

In the accompanying caption, the studio dishes their love for Gomez. The short line of text reads: “We [insert heart emoji here] @selenagomez.”

Although Gomez is yet to share the news with her own set of over 200-million followers, her genuine smile tells us everything we need to know. Clearly, the superstar couldn’t be happier with the way the body art turned out.

Interestingly, this was definitely far from Gomez’s first visit to the New York-based tattoo shop. Not too long ago in January 2020, the star posted a few Instagram snaps of another piece of art she had printed on her neck.

The latest tattoo that came before the cross is certainly on-brand with Gomez’s delicate style when it comes to body art. In honor of her third music album and beauty company which aims to raise $100-million in support of mental health resources for the underserved, Gomez chose to get the word “Rare” written on her neck. The dainty black cursive letters create such a classy aesthetic!

Gomez’s collection of body art also includes a bold ‘G’ on the other side of her neck as a tribute to her sister Gracie, some roman numerals that translate to 1976 (a.k.a. the year her mom was born), an Arabic affirmation prompt on her back, a few symbolic numbers and so much more! Honestly, we could probably write an entire book about all the metaphoric imagery that underlies Gomez’s ink work if we truly put our minds to it.
