Show Review: Austin Mahone Live! Tour with The Vamps, Fifth Harmony & Shawn Mendes

IMG_9375Austin Mahone took his 2014 summer headlining tour to the IZOD Center on Wednesday evening (August 20) in East Rutherford, NJ.

The concert began with an acoustic set from Island Records recording artist/Vine star Shawn Mendes. Shawn performed a few new songs, a cover of A Great Big World’s “Say Something,” and his catchy tune, “Life of the Party.”

After Shawn finished his set, it was time for Fifth Harmony to take the stage. Harmonizers screamed when Ally, Dinah, Camila, Normani, and Lauren strutted their stuff while walking to their mic stands. The girls opened their set with an a capella version of their hit “Miss Movin’ On” and performed their other upbeat songs including “Me And My Girls,” and “Better Together,” their new song “Reflection,” and the sassy anthem of the summer, “BO$$.”

Following Fifth Harmony, British indie-pop band The Vamps walked on stage to perform for one of the last times on the Austin Mahone Live! Tour.  The guys — Brad, James, Tristan, and Connor — opened their set with their upbeat dance track “Wild Heart.” Following “Wild Heart,” the guys performed their newest single “Somebody To You (feat. Demi Lovato)” and their US debut track “Can We Dance.” Brad, James, Tristan, and Connor also covered Jason Derulo’s “Trumpets” — it was soooo awesome!

After The Vamps stole our hearts with their good looks and amazing talent, it was time for the man of the hour to take the stage — Austin Mahone! The lights dimmed and Mahomies screamed as loud as they could when Austin Mahone danced his way on stage. The 18-year-old pop star opened his headlining tour set with “Banga Banga.” Austin also performed his catchy, upbeat songs such as “Say You’re Just a Friend,” “Shawty, Shawty,” “Say Somethin,” “What About Love,” “Mmm Yeah,” the ballad “Shadow,” a cover of George Strait’s “Check Yes or No,” Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature,” and John Legend’s “All of Me.”

Austin Mahone is on tour until September 9th. Tickets are on-sale now at
