LA singer-songwriter Sophie Ann is back with a haunting ballad, “I Don’t Wanna Know.”
The third single from the talented songstress gives us a sneak peak into her world, and what we can expect from her highly anticipated upcoming solo EP.
Sophie shares that the idea for “I Don’t Wanna Know” came from the confusion and pain you feel when getting over someone. “I was reflecting on a previous heartbreak and remembering how hard it was, to block out all of the what if’s,” she shares.
The minimal production compliments the emotional ballad as Sophie draws you in with her beautiful voice. Sophie says, “The production follows the lyrics and storyline very closely. When the emotion rises, the production builds, but keeps returning to that melancholy refrain of me once again feeling the pain of feeling the closure.”
It’s no surprise that as listeners discover Sophie, they turn into fans. Her previous single, “Read My Mind” proved to resonate just as much with listeners, as it enjoyed a very long run on Radio Disney where it rose to their Top 3.
Sophie Ann is an artist that you will want to familiarize yourself with. Her emotive voice combined with her raw lyrics make her a force to be reckoned with and we are sure we will be hearing more from her in the near future.
