SpongeBob SquarePants Gets Picked Up for a Season 12 and Will Feature the Return of Fan-Favorite Characters

SpongeBob SquarepantsÂ has officially got picked up for a twelfth season!

Nickelodeon announced theÂ 26-episode pick up today, May 23rd. The episodes will further the nautical adventures of SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends Patrick, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton and Squidward.

Fans can catch Season 11’s episodes this summer, which willÂ feature the return of some of the show’s all-time favorite characters including the mischievous pencil-drawing Doodle Bob; SpongeBobâ€™s friend and creation Bubble Buddy; the super villain Man Ray; and Cave SpongeBob, who made his debut in season one.Â Nostalgia alert!

Season 12 is scheduled to premiere in 2019, the seriesâ€™ 20^th anniversary year, along withÂ a third SpongeBob SquarePants theatrical from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies.
