StevenMCongrats are in order for Steven R. McQueen today!

The actor joins the cast of the hit Universal Television/Wolf Films NBC series Chicago Fire in a recurring role as the new candidate, Jimmy Borelli.

McQueen is perhaps best known for his role as Jeremy Gilbert on CW’s hits series The Vampire Diaries, which he was on since the show’s inception in 2009.  On the feature side, McQueen starred alongside Elisabeth Shue, Jerry O’Connell and Richard Dreyfuss in Alexandre Aja’s horror film Piranha 3D.

On Chicago Fire, candidate Borelli makes a dramatic entrance on his first day of work, and that doesn’t sit well with his boss, Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker).

Chicago Fire, which is entering its fourth season on NBC, will be airing on Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT beginning October 13.
