Record of the Year

Nominees: “Black Parade” by Beyoncé, “Colors” by Black Pumas, “Rockstar” by DaBaby Featuring Roddy Ricch, “Say So” by Doja Cat, “Everything I Wanted” by Billie Eilish, “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa, “Circles” by Post Malone, “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion Featuring Beyoncé

Who We Think Will Win: The song that made us feel classy and bougie throughout all of 2020 will definitely take the win for Record of the Year. Even if you didn’t know the song, you knew it! “Savage” captured the worlds’ attention and we think it deserves the win for this category.

Album of the Year

Nominees: Chilombo by Jhené Aiko, Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition) by Black Pumas, Everyday Life by Coldplay, Djesse Vol. 3 by Jacob Collier, Women In Music Pt. III by Haim, Future Nostalgia by Dua Lipa, Hollywood’s Bleeding by Post Malone, Folklore by Taylor Swift

Who We Think Will Win: Taylor Swift strayed away from her pop-centered sound with the release of Folklore but thanks to her Country background, it wasn’t as harsh of a surprise that one would think. Especially when Swift is such a fantastic and detailed songwriter, she’s sure to win “Album of the Year.”

Song of the Year

Nominees: “Black Parade,”  Denisia Andrews, Beyoncé, Stephen Bray, Shawn Carter, Brittany Coney, Derek James Dixie, Akil King, Kim “Kaydence” Krysiuk & Rickie “Caso” Tice, songwriters (Beyoncé) “The Box,” Samuel Gloade & Rodrick Moore, songwriters (Roddy Ricch), “Cardigan,” Aaron Dessner & Taylor Swift, songwriters (Taylor Swift), “Circles,” Louis Bell, Adam Feeney, Kaan Gunesberk, Austin Post & Billy Walsh, songwriters (Post Malone), “Don’t Start Now,” Caroline Ailin, Ian Kirkpatrick, Dua Lipa & Emily Warren, songwriters (Dua Lipa), “Everything I Wanted,” Billie Eilish O’Connell & Finneas O’Connell, songwriters (Billie Eilish), “I Can’t Breathe,” Dernst Emile II, H.E.R. & Tiara Thomas, songwriters (H.E.R.), “If The World Was Ending,” Julia Michaels & JP Saxe, songwriters (JP Saxe Featuring Julia Michaels)

Who We Think Will Win: Black Parade is a timeless song that celebrates Black culture, Black voices, and Black love. The song gives life to its message not only through its lyrics but through its sound itself which is why we believe it deserves to win Song of the Year.

Best New Artist

Nominees: Ingrid Andress, Phoebe Bridgers, Chika, Noah Cyrus, D Smoke, Doja Cat, Kaytranada, Megan Thee Stallion

Who We Think Will Win: If you don’t know who Megan Thee Stallion is, you’re probably living under a rock. The artist has taken over the music industry with her popular track “Savage” and as well as the world by storm. Her record-making success is sure to get her Best New Artist this year.

Best Pop Solo Performance

Nominees: “Yummy” by Justin Bieber, “Say So” by Doja Cat, “Everything I Wanted” by Billie Eilish, “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa, “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles, “Cardigan” by Taylor Swift

Who We Think Will Win: Although many of these songs had extreme radio play, we think Doja Cat’s performance in “Say So” stands out the most amongst the crowd. The song is extremely catchy and had an almost cult-like following on TikTok, reminding us of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” which is why we think Doja Cat will win her first Grammy with this song.

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance

Nominees: “Un Dia (One Day)” by J Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny & Tainy, “Intentions” by Justin Bieber Featuring Quavo, “Dynamite” by BTS, “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande, “Exile” by Taylor Swift Featuring Bon Iver

Who We Think Will Win: It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift broke a lot of records with her release of Folklore last year, especially when she has a song like “Exile” featuring Bon Iver on the project. The song has a chilling melody with lyrics to match and both Swift and Iver’s vocals blend smoothly together, making it a sure winner for “Best Pop/Duo Group Performance.”

Best Pop Vocal Album

Nominees: Changes by Justin Bieber, Chromatica by Lady Gaga, Future Nostalgia by Dua Lipa, Fine Line by Harry Styles, Folklore by Taylor Swift

Who We Think Will Win: Although this is the first time he has ever been nominated for a Grammy in his career, we think that Harry Styles will be taking the win for Best Pop Vocal Album tonight. His catchy and repetitive music have never left our brainwaves and radio waves!

Best Dance Recording

Nominees: “On My Mind” by Diplo & Sidepiece, “My High” by Disclosure Featuring Amine & Slowthai, “The Difference” by Flume Featuring Toro y Moi, “Both of Us” by Jayda G, “10%” by Kaytranada Featuring Kali Uchis

Who We Think Will Win: Just like the title of the song suggests, this song has been on our minds! “On My Mind” has a catchy synth beat that doesn’t do too much or too little. It feels like a song that will remain timeless on the dance floor.

Best Rock Performance

Nominees: “Shameika” by Fiona Apple, “Not” by Big Thief, “Kyoto” by Phoebe Bridgers, “The Steps” by Haim, “Stay High” by Brittany Howard, “Daylight” by Grace Potter

Who We Think Will Win: These Women In Music are undeniably empowering and incredible and “The Steps” is complete and utter proof of that fact. Haim have never missed a beat and we think they’ll be taking home the win for this category tonight.

Best Rock Song

Nominees: “Kyoto” Phoebe Bridgers, Morgan Nagler & Marshall Vore, songwriters (Phoebe Bridgers), “Lost in Yesterday,” Kevin Parker, songwriter (Tame Impala), “Not,” Adrianne Lenker, songwriter (Big Thief), “Shameika,” Fiona Apple, songwriter (Fiona Apple), “Stay High,” Brittany Howard, songwriter (Brittany Howard)

Who We Think Will Win: With her sultry voice and strong, attention grabbing guitar instrumentals in the track, Phoebe Bridgers and her song “Kyoto” is sure to take home the Grammy for “Best Rock Song.” The Recording Academy seem to also be big fans of hers, giving her four nominations this year

Best Rock Album

Nominees: A Hero’s Death by Fontaines D.C., Kiwanuka by Michael Kiwanuka, Daylight by Grace Potter, Sound & Fury by Sturgill Simpson, The New Abnormal by The Strokes

Who We Think Will Win: The Strokes managed to bring a freshness yet all too familiar vibe in their album “The New Abnormal.” With strong A-side tracks and catchy hooks, this is a strong contender for “Best Rock Album.”

Best Alternative Music Album

Nominees: Fetch the Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple Hyperspace by Beck, Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers, Jaime by Brittany Howar, The Slow Rush by Tame Impala

Who We Think Will Win: After not releasing any music for five years, Tame Impala’s album “The Slow Rush” was eagerly anticipated by not only his fans but the general public as well. The album is filled with many musical layers and complicated lyrics, making it a thought provoking piece of work.

Best R&B Performance

Nominees: “Lightning & Thunder” by Jhene Aiko Featuring John Legend, “Black Parade” by Beyoncé, “All I Need” by Jacob Collier Featuring Mahalia & Ty Dolla $ign, “Goat Head” by Brittany Howard, “See Me” by Emily King

Who We Think Will Win: Despite it being a surprise release from the artist, we don’t think the Grammy win for “Black Parade” will be a surprise at all! Beyonce released the song on Juneteeth, celebrating Black culture, Black love, and Black voices.

Best Traditional R&B Performance

Nominees: “Sit on Down” by The Baylor Project Featuring Jean Baylor & Marcus Baylor, “Wonder What She Thinks of Me” by Chloe X Halle, “Let Me Go” by Mykal Kilgore, “Anything For You” by Ledisi, “Distance” by Yebba

Who We Think Will Win: With her airy vocals and almost folk/soul filled song, Yebba’s  stunned with her performance in “Distance” so we think the Recording Academy will give her the award in this category.

Best R&B Song

Nominees: “Better Than I Imagine,” Robert Glasper, Meshell Ndegeocello & Gabriella Wilson, songwriters (Robert Glasper Featuring H.E.R. & Meshell Ndegeocello), “Black Parade,” Denisia Andrews, Beyoncé, Stephen Bray, Shawn Carter, Brittany Coney, Derek James Dixie, Akil King, Kim “Kaydence” Krysiuk & Rickie “Caso” Tice, songwriters (Beyoncé), “Collide,” Sam Barsh, Stacey Barthe, Sonyae Elise, Olu Fann, Akil King, Josh Lopez, Kaveh Rastegar & Benedetto Rotondi, songwriters (Tiana Major9 & EARTHGANG), “Do It,” Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Anton Kuhl, Victoria Monet, Scott Storche & Vincent Van Den Ende, songwriters (Chloe X Halle), “Slow Down,” Nasri Atweh, Badriia Bourelly, Skip Marley, Ryan Williamson & Gabriella Wilson, songwriters (Skip Marley & H.E.R.)

Who We Think Will Win: Chloe x Halle, without a doubt, are so deserving of a Grammy and this year we think will be the year they get their first one! “Do It” was a fun R&B hit that captured everyone’s attention and we think it got the Recording Academy’s attention too.

Best Progressive R&B Album

Nominees: Chilombo by Jhené Aiko, Ungodly Hour by Chloe X Halle, Free Nationals by Free Nationals, F*** Yo Feelings by Robert Glasper, It Is What It Is by Thundercat

Who We Think Will Win: We have a feeling that Chloe x Halle will be going home with not only their first Grammy this year, but also their second! Their album, Ungodly Hour, was incredible and self-empowering. Their harmonious voices aligned with the R&B sound is a stunning mix that will get them the win this year.

Best R&B Album

Nominees: Happy 2 Be Here by Ant Clemons, Take Time by Giveon, To Feel Love/d by Luke James, Bigger Love by John Legend, All Rise by Gregory Porter

Who We Think Will Win: Although we have contenders like John Legend and Gregory Porter, we think an underdog like Giveon will win for “Best R&B Album” for his work, “Take Time.” His storytelling and smooth vocals on his project will get him this award.

Nominees: “Deep Reverence” by Big Sean Featuring Nipsey Hussle, “Bop” by DaBaby, “What’s Poppin” by Jack Harlow, “The Bigger Picture” by Lil Baby, “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion Featuring Beyoncé, “Dior” by Pop Smoke

Who We Think Will Win: Unless you’ve been living under a rock, we’re sure you’ve heard “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion Featuring Beyoncé at least a couple dozen times. With over 3 million units sold, Megan and Beyonce powerhouse song is sure to win in this category.

Nominees: “Rockstar” by DaBaby Featuring Roddy Ricch, “Laugh Now, Cry Later” by Drake Featuring Lil Durk, “Lockdown” by Anderson .Paak, “The Box” by Roddy Ricch, “Highest in the Room” by Travis Scott

Who We Think Will Win: We think Dababy and his song Rockstar is a definite win in this category. The song was well-received by many and is nominated for multiple awards this year for good reason!

Atlantic Records

Best Rap Song

Nominees: “The Bigger Picture,” Dominique Jones, Noah Pettigrew & Rai’shaun Williams, songwriters (Lil Baby), “The Box,” Samuel Gloade & Rodrick Moore, songwriters (Roddy Ricch), “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” Durk Banks, Roget Chahayed, Aubrey Graham, Daveon Jackson, Ron LaTour & Ryan Martinez, songwriters (Drake Featuring Lil Durk), “Rockstar,” Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, Ross Joseph Portaro IV & Rodrick Moore, songwriters (DaBaby Featuring Roddy Ricch), “Savage,” Beyoncé, Shawn Carter, Brittany Hazzard, Derrick Milano, Terius Nash, Megan Pete, Bobby Session Jr., Jordan Kyle Lanier Thorpe & Anthony White, songwriters (Megan Thee Stallion Featuring Beyoncé)

Who We Think Will Win: The Recording Academy are fans of Roddy Ricch–his six nominations this year alone prove that–so we can definitely see them giving “Best Rap Song” for “The Box.” It also garnered a lot of radio play in the past year, so we think this will be a sure win.

Best Rap Album

Nominees: Black Habits by D Smoke, Alfredo by Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist, A Written Testimony by Jay Electronica, King’s Disease by Nas, The Allegory by Royce Da 5’9″

Who We Think Will Win: Many have described Nas’ album, King’s Disease, as perfectly curated and an album that never strayed away from its concept and we have to agree! Although his album had a concept in mind, his music still remained as great ever.

Best Music Video

Nominees: “Brown Skin Girl” by Beyoncé, “Life Is Good” by Future Featuring Drake, “Lockdown” Anderson .Paak, “Adore You” by Harry Styles, “Goliath” by Woodkid

Who We Think Will Win: There’s a lot of great contenders in this category especially with Beyonce and Harry Styles being nominated but we think Future and Drake will take the award home for “Best Music Video” for their song “Life is Good.” With a whopping 1.7 billion views on YouTube and multiple different filming locations, it’s clear why it’s a favorite.
