The Cast of SYFY’s New Series “Deadly Class” Share Easter Eggs, Set Secrets & More (Exclusive)

With a new year comes new TV shows to obsess over, and that’s exactly what we’re doing with SYFY’s new drama Deadly Class.

Based on the best-selling 2014 Image Comics graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes CraigDeadly Class is a coming of age journey filled with ancient mystery and teen angst, all set against the backdrop of the progressive culture from the late 1980s.

The series follows the story of Marcus (played by Benjamin Wadsworth), a teen living on the streets who is recruited into Kings Dominion, an elite private academy where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties soon proves to be vital. At Kings Dominion, he meets Maria (María Gabriela de Faría), Saya (Lana Condor), Billy (Liam James), Willie (Luke Tennie), Chico (Michel Duval), and Master Lin (Benedict Wong), who one way or another help him navigate through the academy.

Now you may be asking yourself ‘why should I tune into yet ANOTHER teen drama based off a comic book’, but the real question is why AREN’T you watching another teen drama based off a comic book? Deadly Class boasts a fresh-faced (and super hot) cast with not only true talent, but also amazing chemistry, AND the creator Rick Remender is the series’ front-runner and executive producer. Knowing that Remender is there calling the shots makes it all the more reason to tune in, as you know it will be sticking to the comics and executed the only way it should be done — perfectly.

Celeb Secrets had the opportunity to sit down with Benjamin, María, Liam, Luke and Michel to go in depth about each of their characters and what’s to come from them the rest of the season. María and Michel touch on representing the Latino community be having scenes in Spanish while Luke and Liam share what its like being on a show that’s set in 1987. Benjamin also reveals some of the biggest Easter Eggs and set secrets that you wouldn’t catch when watching the show.
