Although the holidays are in full force and Christmas merely a few weeks away, it’s the award season that has everyone feeling eager. But before we get to the tear-jerking speeches and “pretending to be surprised, but I knew I would win all along” reactions, we (the die-hard fans) and the officials have to figure out who we feel are worthy of that sparkling, new trophy and the bragging rights that come with it.

The Grammy nominees kicked-off the season earlier this week and the Golden Globes quickly followed suit. The nominees of the 25 categories (ranging from motion picture to television) for the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced Thursday (December 10th) from the elegant quarters of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hill, CA. The announcers included:

Golden Globe winner Angela Bassett (American Horror Story: Hotel, Close to The Enemy), two-time nominee America Ferrera (ABC’s Ugly Betty), Chloe Grace Moretz (The Amityville Horror, The Fifth Wave) and double Golden Globe nominee Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow, A Dog’s Purpose). Along with the previous Miss Golden Globe Corinne Foxx, HFPA President Lorenzo Soria and Executive VP of Television at Dick Clark Productions Barry Adelman.

The dazzling event will take place Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. It will be hosted by none other than hilariously unfiltered Ricky Gervais once again. Gervais made his first debut as the Globes’ emcee back in 2010 and again in 2012 before passing the baton to Amy Poehler and Tina Fey (Baby Mama, Sisters). Unlike other award ceremonies, Gervais is known to keep everyone on their toes with his pointed remarks and crude humor which constantly makes viral headlines. Although Ricky vowed to never ever host the Golden Globes again, it looks like they just couldn’t resist his quirky charm and his unorthodox ways of keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.

Check out the full list of nominees here and don’t forget to tune in to see what Ricky Gervais will dish out on the 73rd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 10, 2016!
