Before the Coronavirus pandemic shook everyone’s world, Kelsie Watts made her national TV debut as a pop-rock artist on the 18th season of NBC’s The Voice. Her remarkable and fearless rendition of “I Dare You” by Kelly Clarkson during the blind auditions made her the talk of the town.
Specifically, it was her epic run of whistle notes that left Clarkson speechless and the rest of the world in love with Kelsie’s powerhouse vocals and strong-willed personality. Luckily, the same fierce attitude and wide vocal range that she showcased that very night shines through in her new banger “Summertime Anthem.”
On June 18, 2021 – the rising star dropped “Summertime Anthem” to welcome the warm weather and to celebrate the world opening back up. Watts penned the good vibe ballad alongside Mo Brown, Nikki Williams, and Zach Seabolt – the group of talented songwriters, made it their mission to deliver a timeless summer-filled hit that blends her iconic pop sound, while intertwining key electronic elements.
Now, the independent artist has brought the high-energy single to the next level by dropping a short-film-like music video – that will encourage you to slip on your dancing shoes and hit the town running. “The song is about having fun with people you love! Acting goofy, ” says Watts in an exclusive Celeb Secrets interview. “I really wanted to give everyone something that they could dance to as a celebration for the world opening back up. I mean heck…I’d say we definitely deserve a party.”

“The concept came about during a writing session. We were making jokes about how cool it would be to have a huge party in a mansion, but we just have a backyard and a kiddie pool. So we ran with it,” she says. “ Decided it would be pretty comical to be signing about this super fancy party while sitting in a flamingo float in a blow-up pool,” she laughed while telling Celeb Secrets about the production and idea behind the colorful party.
