Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, and Blake Shelton giving a standing ovation during the new season’s blind auditions.
Season 9 of The Voice is nearly upon us, which means more unexpected talent, more fashion statements from the “Grand Master, Skater P” aka Pharrell, the highly anticipated return of Gwen Stefani, and of course lots of Levine and Shelton bromance to go around.
Singer, songwriter, actress, fashion icon, and No-Doubt’s front woman Gwen Stefani will finally be making her return as she joins the 3 boys on the judging panel once again. Here are a few bits to prepare you for what to expect from possibly the best and most competitive season yet.
1) A one-of-a-kind opening-act you’ll never see anywhere else.
The premiere episode kicks off with the 4 coaches covering each others’ songs. Can it get any better than that? When you have 4 musical geniuses with 4 very different sounds, things are bound to get interesting.
2) A taste of what the coaches will endure during the blind auditions.
This season, the show introduces a new segment where they give the audience at home a chance to experience things from the judges’ POV. The mystery singer or as Adam calls him/her, “the most important person whose ever been on this show”, will inspire you to believe that things aren’t always what they seem.
3) Inspiring stories that will have you crying a river.
From a plane crash survivor to a teen’s stepfather who was killed in Iraq, these contestants will leave you in a pile of tears. And that’s just from night 1.
4) Gwen is back with a vengeance.
Back for the second time around, Stefani is pulling out all the stops to create her winning team. She may be “Just A Girl”, but you definitely do not want to underestimate her.
Earlier last week, NBC released a special teaser from the premiere episode tonight. Watch Barrett Baber, a high school teacher, put his own spin on “Angel Eyes” and wow every single coach. Who will he choose as his coach? Watch the full clip below.
Don’t forget to catch the season nine premiere of The Voice on Monday, September 21st at 8 pm on NBC.
