‘The Voice’ Season 12 Blind Auditions: Night 7 – March 14, 2017

Tonight’s episode of The Voice was nerve-racking, to say the least.

As the judges entered the final night of blind auditions, they quickly realized how critical their choices need to be when rounding out their teams. Although it may have been the last day of blind auditions, it doesn’t mean the talent stopped coming. Likewise, for the most part, the judges recruited only one vocalist to their teams as they reached capacity.

Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani continued their streak of recruiting top talent to their team. However, Keys appeared to have nabbed the most vocalists of the night to add to her team. With all the stellar talent she recruited during the blind auditions (and last night alone), Team Alicia may prove to be unstoppable this season.

Likewise, Celeb Secrets has the breakdown of the night seven’s (March 14) top talent and which team they ultimately wound up on.

TEAM ADAM

Sheena Brook: Since Levine was the only judge to turn his chair around for Brook, she was automatically placed onto his team. Despite how strong her version of “Baby Girl” by Sugarland was, the judges have to be particularly careful about selecting vocalists as their teams are filling up. Normally, this country vocalist would’ve probably been a better fit on Team Blake. However, this is a big get for Levine because he’s been looking to recruit a country singer to prove that he can successfully coach an artist within that genre.

TEAM BLAKE

Dawson Coyle: Despite the hint of nasal vocals within his rendition of “Happiness” by Needtobreathe, Coyle makes it work for him. Luckily, Shelton saw potential with the 17-year-old vocalist because he turned his chair for him right before the song’s end. After Shelton gave Coyle a standing ovation, he told the young singer: “my favorite thing about your voice is how much absolute passion and how much of yourself you pour into your performance.”

TEAM GWEN

Jozy Bernadette: By choosing the iconic rock song “American Woman” by The Guess Who for her blind audition, Bernadette gave the judges a taste of her smooth and somewhat soulful vocal abilities. Although both Levine and Stefani hit the buzzer for her, girl power wins in the end as Bernadette–who uttered the first No Doubt joke of the season–takes the last spot of Team Gwen. Stefani believes that there are things that can be done to make the vocalist “stand out” within the competition, which definitely helped to sway Bernadette’s decision.

TEAM ALICIA

Chris Blue: Based off of his rendition of “The Tracks of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Blue has what it takes to go very far within this competition and Key’s recognizes that. Blue, who has been singing gospel music for years, impressed the judges with his seamless replication of the “The Tracks of My Tears” and his falsetto abilities. Although her fellow judges team’s had reached capacity at this point, Keys saw it as her lucky day to add the perfect vocalist to take the last spot on her team.

Vanessa Ferguson: Ferguson’s soulful cover of “Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers (ft. Daya) had both Keys and Stefani grooving in their seats. The two judges instantly turned their chairs for her at the same time, Shelton followed shortly after. Since Ferguson has been playing Key’s music since she was a kid, she naturally fled to join Team Alicia. Keys tells Ferguson, “I can imagine what I’m going to discover about you in regards to the other talents that you have.”

Overall, the judges managed to recruit a whopping 48 vocalists to advance on to next weeks knockout rounds. If the vocalists may have had challenges in turning more than one chair, the knockout round may be a rude awakening for them. Nonetheless, Celeb Secrets can’t wait to see who will land a spot on the live show.

Season 12 of The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday at 8 PM EST on NBC.
