‘The Voice’ Welcomes New Coach Nick Jonas and More in Season 18 Premiere

The Voice is back tonight for its EIGHTEENTH season and it is seriously better than ever.

The Emmy Award-winning show will not only welcome an incredible new group of talent this season. New to the coaching team is Nick Jonas, who joins previously announced coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.

“I’m so excited to be a part of ‘The Voice’ family,” said Jonas in a statement last October. “It’s such an awesome group of individuals, and I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices.”

Celeb Secrets was invited to check out tonight’s episode before it airs at 8PM ET/PT on NBC, and we’re giving you the rundown on what you can expect. Without giving too much away, the season 18 premiere will…

Feature a whole lot more screams, “ooohs” and “ahhhs” from the studio audience, and eye candy coach Nick Jonas.

If you’d like to experience the banter first hand, look out for one audition in particular — Tate from Salt Lake City Utah. In the clip below, the 16-year-old’s talent is so high end, Nick takes to the stage to show us just how good of a coach he could be.

To rebuttle, Blake brings out a puppy from the shelter that he threatens he will send back if Tate doesn’t choose him.

Even without the addition of Nick Jonas, this season’s opener would still kick ass on the talent alone.

Following our screening was a Q&A with executive producer Audrey Morissey and reigning champ Jake Hoot. Audrey let us know we can look forward to a four-way knock out in which each judge gets a save and a steal, with some insight that there may in fact be a cross over between NBC’s other reality singing series Songland.

Make sure to catch the season 18 premiere of The Voice tonight, February 24 and tomorrow, February 25 @ 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
