Tiffany Houghton Releases “Blame It On The Snow” Music Video (@TiffanyHoughton)

TiffanyHoughton BlameItOnTheSnow FINAL ArtWe have another original Christmas song to add to your playlist from one of our fav up-and-coming pop artists Tiffany Houghton!Christmas is right around the corner, and with that comes the cold – and the cold makes us girls do some crazy things! We stock up on Old Navy scarves and mittens like they’re going out of style, sip hot cocoa til we’rebuzzin’ and sometimes even cuddle up and then “Ooh, she fell in love…”The new track, “Blame It On The Snow,” which is exactly about that moment you let the cold make you starry-eyed and vulnerable, is available on iTunes NOW!

“I don’t think it’s a secret that I’m a Christmas music junkie so this has kind of been on the bucket list since I was a child. It’s a little different actually, and has this retro almost Motown feel to parts of it, but is also super fresh and fun,” said Houghton. “I absolutely love that smooth, but upbeat 1970’s Christmas music like Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas” and Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas.” You also cannot deny the perfection of Mariah’s “Merry Christmas!” “All I Want for Christmas is You” has obviously stood the pop music test of time.”

The video was inspired by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You.” Carey’s hit song, along with other Holiday throwbacks by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and the Jackson 5 influenced Houghton during the songwriting process for “Blame It On The Snow.” The song started off with an idea Houghton had just weeks ago sitting on a New York City park bench. She scribbled down some thoughts, flew in her producer and took a simple idea to a fully recorded track in just 12 hours.
