Disneyland and Walt Disney World are finally expanding and introducing new lands to the parks. Star Wars, Toy Story Land, and Pandora – The World of Avatar are coming for guests.
On August 15, Disney announced a line-up of new attractions and entertainment coming to its theme parks around the world during the D23 EXPO 2015 in Anaheim, California. Fans were giving a behind-the-scenes look at what’s coming (hopefully) soon. Chairman Bob Chapek was joined by imagineers working on these projects to bring the good news.
What fans were really excited about were the new and enhanced Star Wars experiences coming later this year to Florida and California. There will be a new Star Tours adventure, where it will include new locations and characters from the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, giving guests a new adventure in the Star Wars galaxy. The Star Wars Launch Bay is going to be an interactive experience taking guests into the upcoming film, with special exhibits and being able to meet your favorite characters, and special merchandise and food offerings. This will be located in Tomorrowland at Disneyland and Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Lastly, there will be a new Jedi Training Academy experience and Season of the Force which will begin early 2016.
Walt Disney World will be able to experience a new Toy Story Land with a family friendly roller coaster, alien saucers attraction, and Toy Story Mania!. Lastly, Walt Disney will get After Dark at the Animal Kingdom and Pandora – The World of Avatar, where guests will journey into the magnificent world of Pandora at this new Avatar-themed land – with floating mountains, a bioluminescent forest and the winged creatures known as Banshees.
