It’s a new year and awards season is officially here!
Celeb Secrets was in the building for the 24th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday evening (January 13) in Santa Monica, where we got to chat with some of the nominees hours before the big night.
Critically-acclaimed film, television, and stage star Taye Diggs hosted this year’s ceremony, where films like Roma, Black Panther, and Vice won some of the biggest awards of the night, while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel took home three awards in the television categories, including Best Comedy Series for the second consecutive year.
Best Supporting Actress nominee Claire Foy also accepted the #SeeHer Award, while Chuck Lorre, creator of such acclaimed TV comedies as “The Big Bang Theory,” “Mom,” “Young Sheldon” and “The Kominsky Method” (which all received Critics’ Choice Award nominations last month), received the Critics’ Choice Creative Achievement Award. For those if you who don’t know, the Critics’ Choice Awards is an award show presented annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. Written ballots are submitted during a week-long nominating period, and the resulting nominees are announced in December. Historically, the Critics’ Choice Awards are the most accurate predictor of the Academy Award nominations.
