Earlier this week, Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell was crowned the Miss America 2016 at the birthplace of the legendary competition in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.
The 95th annual competition consisted of 52 competitors, who represented all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Celebrity judges Brett Eldredge, Taya Kyle, Danica McKellar, Kevin O’Leary, Amy Purdy and Zendaya evaluated the contestants’ performances in the following categories during the live broadcast: Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit, Evening Wear, Talent, Interview and On-Stage questions. These young women showcased their incredible blend of intelligence, leadership, talent, physical fitness and dedication to community service as they competed for the title of Miss America 2016.
