Last night’s episode of MTV’s Real World: Go Big or Go Home was overflowing with so much sizzling drama. Our faces are still recovering from all the jaw-dropping moments!
Despite not being able to see eye-to-eye, the rest of the cast decide to save Jenna in hopes of teaching her a thing or two about the real world (no pun intended). But after a few drinks and very rude-awakening, it looks like our southern belle isn’t out of the woods just yet.
We recently caught up with Kailah and Jenna to get the full breakdown from homophobic remarks, the current status with Kailah and Dione, the online passage that has Jenna under fire, and much more! Check out our exclusive Q&A below!

Celeb Secrets: So let’s start off with you telling our readers a little more about who you are and why you chose to audition for the Real World?
Kailah: “I had just graduated college with a degree in Journalism and I was just at a point in my life where I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I wasn’t ready to have the whole 9-5 type of job. So I saw that MTV was casting for the Real World and since I was a fan since I was young, I applied. It was kind of a shot in the dark. I obviously didn’t think I was going to make it, I knew the chances are really slim. One thing led to another, and then I was in Vegas.”
Celeb Secrets: As everyone knows, there is a little thing going on with you and Dione. You even mentioned that you could see yourself hooking up with Dione again, but that was before the drama. Do you still see that happening?
Kailah: “I don’t want to give too much away, but our relationship changes a lot through-out the season. You see our dynamic quickly change and it’s like rollercoaster. He and I now don’t have romantic feelings for each other whatsoever though.”
Celeb Secrets: At the day party, Dione met a girl named Kia who he ended hooking up with. At Ghost Bar, you were the only girl out of your roommates who didn’t want to meet Kia. Why was that?
Kailah: “Quite honestly, I don’t know. I know that I was really intoxicated during that party and I don’t really remember seeing Kia there. During the episode, it looked like I was really upset about it and maybe I was, but IÂ don’t remember being that upset. If you check out the background, you can see my friend Mikey waiting for me to take a picture with him. So it just so happened to be same time that Kia showed up and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to walk away. It was just an awkward situation. I think any girl has been in that position where a guy tries to introduce you to a girl and you’re just like weirded out. No hard feelings towards Kia, it was just an awkward situation that I didn’t want to be a part of.”
Celeb Secrets: You guys were given the opportunity to send Jenna home, but you all opt to keep her and try to educate her in a way. What exactly is it about Jenna that gets on your nerves?
Kailah: “Well at first, I really liked her. But it was just a build up of a bunch of different things. There are qualities in people that I just don’t like and she just happened to have a lot of them. She just got on my nerves! I remember we went to dinner and I just couldn’t sit next to her. I didn’t want to hear her voice, I didn’t want anything to do with her. So I tried to distance myself from her as much as I could – which I really couldn’t because I live with her. But when you’re thrown into a house with seven strangers, it’s bound to happen.”
Celeb Secrets: Talking more about Jenna, she made a remark that, “the thought of gay people having sex kinda disgusts her”. What was going through your mind when she said that?
Kailah: “It’s weird because I don’t remember her saying that in the bus, none of us do actually. But she repeated herself and said it again, which we all remember. That was really when the big fight broke out about her beliefs on homophobia and gay sex. I guess when she said that, we all were taken aback. Not only did it offend viewers, but she said it in front of Chris who is pansexual. He has come a long way to come out to his friends and family. The way that he lives his life is still very fresh and we all knew it was very offensive that she said that, in front of him more than anything. But at the same time, we all know that Jenna is a product of her upbringing and she doesn’t know any better. She’s just very uneducated, close-minded and that’s why we all kept her because we thought there was a chance that we could show her there are other ways of living that are acceptable and okay. Yes she said it and we were offended, but that was a daily thing with her.”
Celeb Secrets: At the end of the episode, Jenna becomes a victim of cyber bullying and a lot of the stuff said on the site, she said in the house. Do you have any idea as to who might have leaked that info or who started that website?
Kailah: “First off, I just want to make it clear that I don’t think it was cyberbullying at all. I think that everything that was said online was true and they were going to get out there regardless. It was said on national TV and people knew what we were doing the entire time we were there. My mom would call me and she would know exactly what I did that day. So how the information got out, I don’t know. I don’t know who was leaking it, but I think that in the coming episodes the viewers will find out who made it the site and where it came from.”
Celeb Secrets: So do you personally agree with what was said on the website?
Kailah: “Absolutely. Everything that was on there was true. I know it is unfortunate and I do feel bad for Jenna because it was out of ignorance and because she’s not as educated. But when it comes down to it, those were her words and with them being said on National TV, it was going to happen regardless.”
Celeb Secrets: What can we expect from this season and the episodes to come?
Kailah: “This season is jam-packed full of missions that are really awesome. Our production people really hooked it up and let us do some really amazing things! I’m excited for our viewers to see how we faced our fears! Also, there will be lots of drama, a little more hooking up, and really important conversations which I think is the most important part. To me, this season brings out the old-school Real World feel where people talked about real issues and real problems. These are things that our generation is going through and we talk about them. That’s the most important part and I’m excited to see it open up avenues about conversations about things other than partying.”
Celeb Secrets: Since we are celeb secrets, can you tell us a behind-the-scenes secret?
Kailah: “Sure, I have a good one! A behind-the-scenes secret is that the couch that is in our living room is refurbished every season. So for the past seasons, they have all used that same couch. Also, the private investigator that Sabrina hired to help find her mom was the same investigator that Nany used to help find her parents.”
Celeb Secrets: Before we jump into the drama, can you tell us a little more about yourself and why you wanted to join the Real World?
Jenna: “Well I’ve been singing since I was young and I grew up in a small town that they say, is really hard to get out of. I figured that I can do it, so I put my mind to it. I went on MTV.com and saw an application for the Real World. I thought what better way to get recognized than on a reality TV show. It’s the perfect way to get my music out there and get my foot in the door. I applied and thought to myself, “If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be”. I didn’t expect anything out of it , but I ended up making it on the show!”
Celeb Secrets: Unfortunately, you didn’t get to do last night’s mission due to your neck injury, but at least your roommates didn’t vote you off! How’s your neck feeling and when can we expect you to do missions again?
Jenna: “Every once in a while, it would start hurting and I would need to put some Icy Hot on it. I was also prescribed medication for it, but I think it was just a muscle contusion which swelled up like a baseball. The doctor did say to rest for 1-2 weeks, but I really don’t know. It’s up to the production whether I can or not. If it was up to be, I would have done the mission with a broken neck!”
Celeb Secrets: Last night, you made a remark about how, “the thought of gay people having sex kind of disgusts you”. That comment really offended Chris and probably some of your viewers at home. Would you like to clarify as to why you said that?
Jenna: “I didn’t really think about how I was saying that or when I said it. I think that when people are in the heat of the moment, they say things that are out of line and I was out of line for saying that. I wasn’t trying to offend Chris or anybody, but he was just coming at me about my religion for weeks and I guess I was at the breaking point with him. I said that, but what I really meant by it was that I didn’t grow up around that. It made me uncomfortable hearing about it and having someone describe it to me because it was foreign to me. But I definitely shouldn’t have said it disgusts me, but that I wasn’t used to it.”
Celeb Secrets: After that argument, have you and Chris made amends or do you two still don’t see eye to eye?
Jenna: “I think that a lot of times in the house, you have to live together so whether or not you’re cool with each other, you still have to live together. You still see each other every second of every day. You learn to still do activities together and be civilized with each other. But I guess you’ll just have to see if Chris and I can really get past our differences.”
Celeb Secrets: The end of the episode, you become a victim of cyber bullying and a lot of the stuff said on the site, was stuff you said in the house. Do you have any idea as to who might have leaked that info or who even started that website?
Jenna: “The article is full of things I have said and have not said in the house. Most of the things said about me aren’t true, they’re really just opinionated facts. Based off reading the article, I’m thinking that it was someone in the house. Probably Kailah or Chris. I’m not sure which one it is, but it was definitely somebody who has a lot of hatred towards me. I’m still waiting to find out who wrote it, but I’m pretty sure I know who it was and that it was somebody in the house.”
Celeb Secrets: I did ask Kailah the exact same question earlier and she firmly believes that it isn’t cyber bullying. Do you agree with that or do you believe you are a victim here?
Jenna: “I disagree with her. I believe that any kind of hatred on the internet is cyber bullying. I’m old-fashioned when it comes to settling arguments and I think that you should talk face-to-face rather than spreading hate on the internet. That’s exactly why you won’t find me on my social media spreading hate about anyone. If I have a problem with somebody, I would talk to them in person. I don’t believe that spreading hate gets you anywhere. If anything, it just makes the world even worse. I’ve heard of people who have committed suicide from cyber bullying and discrimination. As far as the article, it was full of hate so yes, I do think it was cyber bullying.”
Celeb Secrets: What can we expect from this season and the episodes to come?
Jenna: “This season is definitely weird! At some point, we all lose it and we dress up as people in the carnival. We do crazy things that are outside of our comfort zone, things we wouldn’t normally do and that’s what this season is all about – going big!”
Celeb Secrets: Since we are celeb secrets, can you tell us a secret from behind-the-scenes or a secret about yourself?
Jenna: “A secret about myself is that I didn’t have a perfect life growing up. I basically had to figure things out on my own and that’s kind of why I’m so inexperienced when it comes to other parts of the world. But I definitely have an open mind and my music definitely helps me with that. It’s really the only way I can express myself. So once people hear me sing on the show, I have a feeling they’ll be more opened and realize that this is my life and I can’t express myself well sometimes, but you can hear my heart through my music. I have a lot of love for everybody.”
Celeb Secrets: Wait, so can you confirm that we will be hearing you sing this season?
Jenna: “You definitely will be hearing me sing at some point in the season. I can’t go into details, but people should definitely keep an eye out!”
