Last night, we headed out to the Paley Center in Beverly Hills to spend the evening with the cast of ABC Family’s hit comedy, Melissa and Joey! “Melissa & Joey,” the hit comedy starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, will return to complete its first season on Wednesday, June 29, at 8:00PM ET/PT. Melissa Joan Hart portrays Mel, the grown-up former wild child of a political family who is now a local politician herself. When her sister ends up in prison and brother-in-law flees after a scandal hits, Mel must take responsibility for her teenaged niece, Lennox, and adolescent nephew, Ryder. Spread too thin to manage by herself, help comes in the unlikely form of Joe (Lawrence) who, desperate for a job, moves in and becomes the family’s “manny.”
In the premiere episode, “Enemies with Benefits,” Joe is excited for his upcoming date, but when he reveals to Mel it’s with his ex-wife, Tiffany (Megan Hilty), who dumped him and broke his heart after he lost his fortune, Mel and the kids see trouble on the horizon. Tiffany immediately tries to befriend Mel and confides she is pregnant. Mel begrudgingly promises to keep the info between them, but is stricken with guilt and tells Joe the big news. Much to Mel’s shock, Joe confesses that the child might be his. Mel begins to question her own feelings for Joe as the two discuss the reality that Joe may soon be a father.
At the Paley Center, the cast gathered for an exclusive Q&A with lucky fans and tons of press [Check back for footage!]. CelebSecrets4U was front and center on the red carpet to chat it up with Melissa, Joey, Taylor, and Nick to see what we can expect from the summer premiere. We’re hearing that there are TONS of love interests spinning off in this new season… EXCITING!
