You’ll Tear Up Watching These Celebs Read Their Kind Instagram Comments

The good kind of crying though, we promise.

Social media can be this wonderful place where you can connect with people all over the globe, discover new passions, and share memories with your friends. But, as we probably don’t even need to tell you, it’s unfortunately also a place where bullies can come out full force and say the rudest and most awful things from behind the safety of their screens. If you’ve ever gotten a mean comment on any of your posts, you know that even one nasty statement can shake your confidence and drown out all of the other nice messages on your page.

No one knows this fact better than celebrities, who can sometimes get as many hateful messages from cyberbullies as they get motivational well-wishes from adoring fans. Now, many of your favorite stars are joining together to prove that kind messages have the power to be a million times bolder than the mean ones, and partnered up with Instagram to share specific examples and uncover the true potential of kindness on social media.

Today, the official Instagram account posted a moving video featuring Girl Meets World actor Corey Fogelmanis reading off one of the most inspiring comments he came across on his own feed.

Actor Corey Fogelmanis (@coreyfogelmanis) has been performing since he was 6 years old, but it was around age 10 that it all really clicked. “I knew then that I wanted acting to be more than just a hobby,” says the 17-year-old California native, who’s spent the past decade performing onstage and on TV. Each setting brings its own set of rewards and challenges, but after working on a sitcom for the last three years, Corey is excited to take his acting chops back to the theater. “I love the intimacy of it, and that the audience and cast alike can experience something together that’s unique to a moment in time,” he says. “When it’s over, it’s over; it can only live on in our memories.” As someone who’s spent much of his life in the spotlight, Corey is no stranger to the power of #KindComments. “To me, it’s about people going out of their way to spread positivity and build others up,” he says. Join in by sharing your #KindComments — empowering comments that uplift you and others in the community.
