Jonas Brothers Take Over the Lower East Side with Special Concert at New York City’s Webster Hall

The Jonas Brothers are back and better than ever with new music and a headlining tour, and fans (including the CS staff) are the happiest they’ve been in the last decade.

In the midst of their Happiness Begins Tour, Joe (30), Nick (26) and Kevin Jonas (31) stopped by Webster Hall in New York City on Tuesday (August 20) for a special headlining performance with Pandora and Sirius XM. Apart of the streaming platform’s Pandora Live concert series, the guys were joined by chart topper Ava Max, who performed her hits “Sweet But Psycho” and “So Am I” ahead of the JoBros.

With strict rules stating that Pandora would stop letting concert goers in once they hit capacity, fans from Singapore to Mexico and everywhere in between began lining up for the free, RSVP-only show in the early hours of the morning to obtain their wristband and secure a spot for the event. The fans were far from disappointed when they got inside, as the Jonas Brothers put on a performance that had people in literal tears.

As I walked up the steps of Webster Hall to go in the venue, I started seeing many familiar faces and it took me to a place I never thought I would physically or mentally be ever again…. it was like a high school reunion. After catching up with the dozens of girls I used to see at countless concerts and events as well as talk to on Myspace about the boys, it was time to see the Jonas Brothers play some of my favorite songs in the most intimate setting in nearly a decade.

Opening with the iconic “Burnin’ Up,” the fans on the floor level rushed to the front immediately after Joe belted out the first words to the upbeat tune. The guys also sang songs off their new record Happiness Begins, including “Cool,” “Only Human,” “Strangers,” “Roller Coaster,” and of course “Sucker” which they appropriately closed their hour-long set with.

Performing at venues in the New York/Tri-State area has a sentimental meaning for the Jonas Brothers, as they hail from Wyckoff, New Jersey and some of their core fan base originated in the metro area. Nick made a point to thank the crowd for all their support and making these “hometown shows” some of the best ones they’ve ever played.

OG fans were in for a real treat, as the JoBros made sure to include songs like “S.O.S.,” “That’s Just The Way We Roll,” “When You Look Me In The Eyes,” “Year 3000,” “Love Bug,” “Fly With Me,” and even Nick and Joe’s solo hits “Jealous” and “Cake By the Ocean,” respectively in their set.

This show, along with the band’s Happiness Begins Tour marks the first time the Jonas Brothers have reunited since announcing their breakup in the fall of 2013. Releasing their first album in ten years this past June, Happiness Begins landed in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Charts, marking the biggest week of 2019 for an album.

The Jonas Brothers continue the Happiness Begins Tour in Toronto this weekend, before heading to the 2019 MTV VMAs on Monday where they are not only scheduled to perform but also up for multiple awards during the telecast.
