As always, we’ll be sharing with you our favorite Korean music releases of the week ranging from K-Pop, K-R&B, K-Rap, and lots more, including Japanese releases from your favorite Korean artists. Rest assured, all of these will be bops because we don’t do skips around here.
NCT DREAM are back and they’ve finally given us a full-length album!
Hot Sauce is a 10-track project and is the group’s first full album despite debuting as NCT‘s youngest subunit back in 2016. It also serves as a “welcome back” project for group member Mark after he “graduated” from the subunit in 2018 due to the unit rotation policy.
The title track and lead single, “Hot Sauce,” is a catchy, vibrant hip-hop song that really showcases the group’s harmonious vocals and charismatic rap style. The album starts off with upbeat tracks like “Diggity,” “Rocket,” and “Countdown (3, 2, 1),” before ending with calm and serene ballads such as “Be There For You” and “Rainbow.” It’s almost like they’re warming up the listener before cooling them down, just like the effect actual hot sauce has.
This week also found a ton of releases from some of our favorite groups and soloists; including Baekhyun and Seomoontak, OH MY GIRL, KEEMBO; with new releases from Borest, ONEUS, Kang Daniel; and solo debuts from (G)I-DLE‘s Yuqi and Got7‘s Jay B.
