Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for the ride, because Olivia Rodrigo just gave fans a fun-filled surprise!
The GRAMMY®-nominated singer-songwriter has been teasing something big on social media for the past week, as she’s been sending Polaroid pictures to her biggest fans (aka “Livies”) hinting at her latest project.

The “Drivers Licence” singer’s fans automatically went into a frenzy wondering if Rodrigo was teasing a new music video or a new era of her music. But to fans’ surprise, the 18-year-old artist took to social media today (February 17) to announce her upcoming Disney+ documentary, OLIVIA RODRIGO: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film).
The documentary will follow Rodrigo as she takes viewers into the creation process of her hit debut album SOUR, and the memories that came with the process all while sharing her feelings as a young woman navigating a specific time in her life. Through new live arrangements of her songs, intimate interviews and never-before-seen footage from the making of the album, audiences will follow her along on a cinematic journey exploring the story of SOUR.

The film features all 11 songs from the record-breaking project performed with brand new arrangements in unique locations, including Mojave Airplane Boneyard, Roy’s Motel & Café, Arcosanti and the Red Rock Canyon State Park. It also includes special guest performances and appearances by GRAMMY®-nominated artist Jacob Collier, Blu DeTiger and Towa Bird. The film explores how SOUR came to be through Olivia’s personal stories and behind-the-scenes footage featuring intimate moments showcasing Olivia’s artistry in and out of the studio.
In a recent press release, Ayo Davis, the president of Disney Branded Television said that Rodrigo’s film will show a personal side of the artist’s life that fans won’t want to miss out on.
“This is a unique film experience where for the first-time, fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia,” Davis said. “This is not a concert film per say, but really, an opportunity to experience first-hand how Olivia Rodrigo became one of the biggest music stars of the day – and a chance to see her perform the songs from SOUR like never before.”
OLIVIA RODRIGO: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film), will debut exclusively on Disney+ on March 25, 2022.
