2020 MTV VMAs: See All the Best Looks from the Red Carpet

The 2020 MTV VMAs are officially here and there’s so much to look forward to!

Taking place at multiple locations in New York City and beyond tonight (August 30), the official kick-off event for the VMAs is looking a little different this year amid the Coronavirus pandemic that hit the nation earlier this year. With traditional red carpets a think of the past (for now), performers and presenters still looked their absolute best while posing for photographers and answering questions (6 feet apart of course) from MTV correspondents at the network’s 90 minute pre-show.

The pre-show, hosted by Nessa Diab, Jamila Mustafa, Kevan Kenney and Travis Mills. will feature celebrity interviews and performances from Chloe x Halle, Jack Harlow, Lewis Capaldi, Tate McRae and Machine Gun Kelly featuring Travis Barker and blackbear, as well as some everyday heroes that are fighting on the front lines of the Coronavirus pandemic. Brought to viewers by EXTRA® Gum, Everyday Heroes: Frontline Medical Workers, will celebrate the best performances by first responders – doctors, nurses, and other frontline medical workers – who kept everyone going with their impromptu and off-the-cuff performances.

Airing live from all over New York City and beyond, the television event will feature epic moments from host Keke Palmer and performances from Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, BTS, Black Eyed Peas, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Maluma and CNCO.

Actors Drew Barrymore, Anthony Ramos, Joey King and Sofia Carson; musicians Bebe Rexha, Jaden Smith, Kelly Clarkson, Machine Gun Kelly, Madison Beer and blink-182 drummer Travis Barker; and socialites Bella Hadid and Nicole Richie are hitting the stage tonight to present a shiny new piece of hardware to each winner.
